gut health
Gut health is arguably the foundation of overall health. Inflammatory issues and poor microbiome diversity (in the gut) will effect every other system in the body. Think about it, your gut converts food into usable nutrition for the mind & body. If the gut is not working properly, the body won't receive sufficient "fuel". Think of your body as a well designed, complex machine (that's exactly what it is). A machine needs clean energy to perform at its peak. You wouldn't put old, contaminated gasoline or oil into a vehicle, it would wear down and fall apart. The same applies to the human body. If the digestive system is not working properly, the body will fail to perform and unintended complications are sure to evolve.
Inflammation can cause permeability issues in the gut (leaky gut). When the gut is not a sealed system, things that aren't supposed to be in the blood stream end up in the blood stream. This would be like putting sand in the gas tank of your vehicle. Inflammation in the gut means complications is the rest of the body.
Leaky gut is now being reported as a fundamental cause of many common western diseases.
did you know:
Serotonin and BDNF (brain derived neurotropic factor) are actually produced in the gut. Researchers and physicians are beginning to understand that many neurological diseases and cognitive performance issues actually originate as gut inflammation and microbiome problems.
directions:
Shake to make sure herbs are evenly mixed. Scoop (for starters) 1 tbsp of tea into a loose leaf tea brewing method of your choice (we use a Bodum French Press). Pour 8oz of water at 195deg F and steep for 6-8 mins depending on your patience and desired strength. Strain and pour. Add natural sweetener as desired (we use stevia). If 195 is too hot for you to drink, add some cool water after tea is done brewing. Use common sense when consuming hot drinks. ENJOY!
